Introduction of Taisetsu Area

Daisetsuzan National Park, the widest in Japan, is home to the Daisetsuzan mountain range, a gentle chain of peaks around 2,000 meters high, including Asahidake, Hokkaido’s highest peak. The Taisetsu area, which consists of one city and eight towns, including Asahikawa City, located on the west side of the Daisetsuzan National Park, offers a wide variety of activities that take advantage of the mountain and river terrain, such as mountain climbing, cycling, and rafting in summer, and skiing in winter, where you can experience the best powder snow.

  • Hokkaido Taisetsu Area Activity Center

    The activity center is located at Asahikawa Station, the land gateway to the Daisetsu area.
    Information on activities and cultural experiences that can be enjoyed in the area is provided on a daily basis. The staff at the counter will guide you on how to enjoy the Asahikawa Station area, rental services, and recommended activities depending on the time of the year.
    Please feel free to consult with us about activities that can be enjoyed in a short time, or to help you make a plan for a relaxing stay of 2 or 3 days.

  • Activity Center Asahikawa Airport

    The Activity Center introduces the magnificent Daisetsu area at Asahikawa Airport, located almost in the center of Hokkaido.
    Not far from Asahidake, Hokkaido’s highest peak, and the gateway to mountain resorts, the center provides information on trekking, hiking, snow activities, and everything you need to enjoy the area to the fullest. Please stop by for information on goods rentals, ticket sales, and activity guides.
